Privacy, by design
Your patient’s name never reaches the designer
A design service that receives a patient’s name, birth date and scan becomes a HIPAA business associate, with a signed agreement, the full Security Rule and your practice carrying our risk. So the platform is built the other way around: the name stays in your panel, encrypted, and the case travels under your own reference.

Works with what is on your counter
If your scanner exports an open mesh, we can design from it. If it only exports through the manufacturer’s cloud, you send us the export from there — it works, it is just one more step.

Send PLY or DCM if your scanner offers it
A plain STL is geometry with nothing attached: no margin line, no shade, no colour. If you drew the margin at the chair, an STL throws it away and your designer has to guess where you wanted it. Both manufacturers say so themselves.
3Shape: exported STL files “will not contain any data exclusive to TRIOS, data such as shade measurement, color images and margin line”. Medit: margin-line colour survives only in “meditMesh, OBJ, and PLY”.
On iTero, scan as iRecord — not Invisalign
This one is decided before the scan exists and cannot be undone afterwards. A case captured under the Invisalign workflow can never be exported, so there is nothing for us to design from and the patient has to be scanned again.
Questions
Yes. One single-unit case per practice, designed on the normal turnaround and delivered as an open file. There is no card on file and nothing to cancel afterwards. We do it because a file you can seat is a better argument than anything on this page.
No. We are the design seat, not the lab. Fabrication stays with your lab, your mill or your printer — you send them the file we return, or we send it for you. Many practices use us precisely so their lab can stop charging design on top of fabrication.
No, and that is the point. A full exocad lab seat runs about $322 a month on subscription, or around $9,400 to buy outright — before the workstation and before somebody who knows how to drive it. You need a scanner and somewhere to mill or print. We are the seat in between.
Tell us what is wrong and we redo it. A design that does not fit is not a finished case, so it is not a second invoice.
You do. It comes back as an open mesh with no lock and no platform tie. If you stop working with us tomorrow, everything you already paid for is still yours and still usable.

Usually yes, and we will tell you honestly when we cannot. We are not going to promise you one hour on a full-arch case to win the click.
